How a file works

The launch wallet

Every launch gets a new wallet, made in your browser. Its key is stored in this browser and is never sent to Latens. Latens never holds funds.

Before you can launch, you back the key up: download the file or copy the key, then confirm by typing the end of it. If you lose it, you lose access to that wallet. Nobody can recover it for you.

To use the wallet on another device, open My wallets there and restore from the backup. To trade from it, import the key into Phantom.

The bundle

A launch is three transactions sent together through a Jito bundle:

  1. Funding, signed by Phantom: SOL to the launch wallet.
  2. Coin creation, signed in your browser by the launch wallet and the mint.
  3. Your first buy and the tip, signed in your browser by the launch wallet.

They land in order in the same block, or none of them land. The server checks them against your launch and passes them on. It can't change them, because they are already signed.

The reveal

Before the launch, your main wallet and the launch wallet both sign one message that names the other and the coin. That message is the proof.

The countdown runs from the block the coin landed in. When it ends, the main wallet that signed and funded the launch is shown on the file with its full record. Reveals are saved, and the clock decides them, so a server restart can't delay one.

First buy and pledges

A launch has one buyer wallet and one first buy of up to 1 SOL. The launch builder can't express anything else, and the server refuses a bundle that differs from your launch.

You can pledge not to sell or move your coins for a set time. You hold the key, so Latens can't enforce it. Latens reads the launch wallet from the chain and marks the pledge kept or broken on your record, with the transaction if it broke.

The launch wallet is what is watched. Coins it moves to another wallet count as moved.

Creator fees

The launch wallet is the coin's creator, so pump.fun creator fees build up for it. My wallets shows what is unclaimed, live. You claim with a transaction signed by your browser-held key, and the SOL goes to the launch wallet. You can then sweep it to any wallet you like.

What it costs

The launch page shows the exact amounts before you sign. For a first buy of 0.1 SOL:

Launch feeFree
First buy0.1 SOL
Network rent, about0.009 SOL
Jito tip, from0.0005 SOL
Stays in your launch wallet0.003 SOL, yours to sweep

If something goes wrong

The bundle doesn't land. Nothing happened on chain, and your SOL never moved. Try again; the next try pays a higher tip.

Your browser closes mid-launch. Signed launches carry on without you. Come back to the launch page on the same device to see where it stands.

Only the funding landed. A chain fork can do this, rarely. The SOL is in your launch wallet, under your key. Sweep it back from My wallets.

Latens is offline. Your wallet and coins are on the chain and your key is in your backup. Import the key into Phantom and carry on without us.

What the chain shows

The funding transfer is visible on chain as soon as it lands, so someone who traces it can link you before the reveal. A launcher here is never anonymous. What holds is that nobody sees it coming before it lands, because nothing is public until the bundle lands.

The first buy lands with the launch. Anyone can still buy in later blocks.

Latens is not affiliated with pump.fun.
