The register

Every launch, with the launcher blacked out until the clock runs out.

No files are open.

The next one lands with no warning, and it appears here the moment it does.

How a file unfolds

Quiet until it lands. Loud ten minutes later.

  1. Before

    Prepared in your browser

One sentence becomes a name, ticker and logo, or write your own. A fresh launch wallet is made on your device, and you back it up before anything else happens.

  2. 0:00

    It lands, all at once

Funding, coin creation and your first buy go in one bundle and land together, or not at all. The file opens on the public register with a blacked-out launcher.

  3. 10:00

    The file unseals

The countdown ends and the bar lifts. Your main wallet is named in public, with your full launch record next to it.

  4. After

    The record keeps reading

Latens keeps watching the launch wallet. Sales, pledges kept and pledges broken all go on your record, and that record follows your next launch.

The core rule

We never hold funds.

The launch wallet key is made in your browser and never leaves it. Back it up when asked: if you lose it, you lose access to that wallet, and nobody can get it back for you.

The rules of a file

One wallet. One capped first buy. A pledge anyone can check.

The launch builder has one buyer wallet and one first buy, under a cap. There is no way in it to split supply across wallets, and the server refuses any bundle that tries.

You can pledge not to sell for a set time. You hold the key, so nothing can force you to keep it. The chain shows what happened, and your record says so.

On the wire

Trades on open files, as they land.

The first buy lands with the launch. Everything after that is the market, in the open.

Trades on open files appear here as they land.

What a file does not do

Plain limits.

The funding is on chain

The transfer from your wallet to the launch wallet is public from the moment it lands. Someone who traces it can link you before the reveal. Latens does not hide you from the chain. What it gives you is that nobody sees it coming before it lands.

Later blocks are open

Your first buy lands with the launch, in the same bundle. Anyone can still buy after it, later in that block and in the blocks that follow. Each file shows how many did.

A record is what you make it

A record follows a main wallet. A brand new wallet starts with a short record, and a short record reads as exactly that.

$LATENS

Bought and burned, with a public log.

Each burn lowers the total supply. Launching on Latens is free.
